Last Saturday: Free fencing

I enjoy a pool as much as any other foilist. Last Saturday at practice, there were only six electric fencers around, so someone suggested we do a pool and treat it like an informal competition. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of variation in style and ability--for example, one boy had just started electric while another had gone to the Nationals last year. I enjoyed fencing all my opponents, but was saddened when [BOTH!] body cords were broken and I had to forfeit my last two bouts. Ah, well. There's always next week.
